Comments: Hi! I got introduced to LOBO way back in 1988 when a small time music shopkeeper gave me the BEST of LOBO II cassette. I bought it without even knowing how this will sound..and the rest is history. I have been a great fan of him and I have read about him quite a lot. His songs are very simple and soothing, even my 3 year old son likes to hear STONEY...! Lobo, you used your heart when you wrote, that's why all those greatest hits have such good lyrics apart from music.

Comments: I have always loved Lobo music. We picked up a hitchhiker and he claimed to be the keyboard player for Lobo in 1976-1978. His name was John Sebeck. He claimed to have written a couple of songs that they recorded. Does anyone know for sure! If so email me! He also claimed they will going on a 10 city tour starting in October of 2007. Just curious if any of it is true?

Webmaster: No tour in October as far as I know. And John Sebecks name has come up before, he was not a member of Lobo's band, he did not write any songs with Lobo. Sounds like he was pulling your leg.

Comments: Chances are if you were a fan of moving lyrics and melodic melodies and were around in the early 70's,.... whether you were awair or not,... chances are you were a Lobo fan. I have been a student of R&R and country rock, for the era 1956 to 1980. I have met and talked to Roy Orbison, Johnny Rivers and Bobby Vee. I never had the opportunity to meet Kent LaVoie, but I hold his music in just as high a regard as those artists. I have passed my appreciation for Lobo's music on to my children, who have played his music at their weddings!
Kent might be the most underrated, or, more accuratly, the most underpublisised singer/songwiter of his era. I sure would love to catch a Lobo live performance.

Comments: Mr.Roland Kent (lobo)LaVoie is in my opnion one of the best artist of our time and extremley !!underrated!!.I grew up listening to to this master painter.I did say master painter because when he sings you can actually see the man in the song interacting with his lady love(or)lost.Today's music just does not seem to have any meaning,there is no story,no real passion.I am not moved by any of it.Lobo however with every song it is like a musical movie.Every song has meaning and you can connect with these characters because they were written !!From the heart!!.I was pulled into every song like a magnet.My favorite song is DON'T EXPECT ME TO BE YOUR FRIEND.THEN IT'S i'D LOVE YOU TO WANT ME,Because who has not felt like that at one point or another I know that I have.Every song is written on the canvas of emotion of lost loves unrequited love or a love to last all time.Whenever I listen to LOBO sing I feel and for the most part that is something that you just can not do today.I have a favorite saying a motto really that explaines my Love for Lobo's music and old time rock and roll I AM A GIRL OF THE 70'S AND HAVE NO INTENTION OF EVER LEAVING.An everlasting 70's fan and an Everlasting LOBO fan.STAY COOL AND ROCK ON.

Comments: I fell in love with LOBO when I was still in high school. I usually don't have favorite astists but favorite songs. If I find an artist who's songs I continually like I find all their songs I can. They used to be all on LP's or 45's. Then I would also get them on cassette & now on CD's even though I only have a portable CD player. I tend to be behind the times. I will still buy a 45 if the song is right. I have found Kent's songs found a way into my heart & head. When my illness forced me to take disability reading & music became most important to me. Music has become extremely important to me since it calms & relaxes me, taking some of my daily pain away when the songs touch me & fill my mind. Kent's songs have done that as few others have. LOBO has been in my top 3 music spots since the first song I heard by him. Kent let your brother Roger know how much Gus has made me laugh over the years. GOD BLESS YOU!

Comments: Lobo continues to be my favorite singer/songwriter of all... I fell in love with his music back in the early 70's and continue to enjoy him to this day! The ultimate would be to see him in concert!!! Maybe someday? I pray everyone experiences music as Lobo's music provided for me!

Comments: I was going thtrough a few of my old "Get This 8 Tracks" and found a few of your old tapes. I realy wanted to listen to them once again, mainly to find a song that was never poupular on the radio, but one I remember well as it tuched me real deep just before I went over seas, "Big Red Kite". No luck playing the 8 tracks, so I went to the music store and I found a Cd of yours that had the greatest hits on it. I got to listen to that song again, feels just the same as it did then. I also got to listen to "I'd love you to want me, this was my wifes and my song before we were married. We have been married for 31 years now. It was nice to listen and to sing that song to her again. I have always enjoyed your music. Just to let you know, your music did what I belive you intended it to do, touched the listeners heart.

My daughter is now 12 and enjoying her "own music" on the Disney channel ... she usually wins the "radio battle" in the car, but on Sunday when I started the car, the radio was on my channel - she went to immediately change the station and I said "oh, I LOVE this song" ... she said "is this something about a dog on a highway".

It's Tuesday and I'm still giggling about it!

Comments: A BIG THANK YOU for the (CD) re-release of Introducing Lobo/Of A Simple Man and making it available in the U.S. I've got 2 copies ordered already. My brother Dan is a Lobo fan as well, so he will be getting a copy. My albums have been played so much that side 2 is bleeding through to side 1.
